A little bit about me and my philosophy...
My name is Kevin Fee (Kevin & Adrienne Fee -
pictured), and Dance Harmony is my brainchild
from over 10 years ago. Back in 2000, I came very close to making it a reality, but as it turned out my life proceeded in a different direction, as I
continued my corporate career in the pharmaceutical & medical device industries.
But now, things have come rather full-circle and I have succeeded in pursuing my dream of a dance establishment based on fun.
As for me, I have been an avid social dancer for 20 years and taught
off and on for the past 16 years. I began teaching dance
part-time in Virginia in 1994 and later in Pennsylvania in 1999, and since then
have never stopped! I have taught full-time for the past 5 years, opening my own
studio in February 2006. Teaching
dance is
something I really enjoy and find rewarding in a very unique way. Having been
the proverbial "wallflower" for all of my younger days, I find great
joy in sharing the experience of social dancing with others. Believe me, there is nothing
better than being able to participate and have fun on the dance floor at a wedding, reunion,
or other social setting.
In regards to dance instruction, I have taken literally hundreds of dance lessons over
the years from world champions, US champions, legends, coaches, professional teachers, and amateurs.
Some of those lessons were great, and to be honest, some were not so great. Accordingly,
I try to take the best of those experiences and bring them to my teaching style.
My dance classes are fun and as a slow learner myself; I really break the dance
steps down into very manageable pieces and use lots of repetition. In my
experience, it is far better to learn a few steps very well, than to be taught many
steps quickly, which are then soon forgotten.
As someone with little or no natural ability, I firmly believe that if I can learn to dance, anyone can
dance! I was very
fortunate starting out in dance by having a really wonderful and patient dance
teacher, otherwise
I would have never learned. So, I understand how frustrating dance can be when
it comes at you too fast and you just don't "get it". You will not
have those problems in my dance classes.
My expertise is social dancing with an emphasis on participation and Fun!. If
you want to win Blue Ribbons, or dance on stage, I will send you to a coach
since that is not my focus. My advanced dancers do excel with technique, styling, and advanced
amalgamations, but in the context of social dancing.
If you want further information, please contact
me for details.
Thank you so much for visiting my web site and I look forward to seeing you on the
dance floor soon!
Best,
